Although not
issued with her dad’s sea bag, Kathy Lamb was raised a Navy
brat. With at least 12 moves before she was 18, she grew
up moving from the east coast to the west coast and in Hawaii
and Spain. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the
country and learn about the different cultures.
Kathy’s husband, Steve, is a truck driver. She has a
wonderful son, Brandon. Brandon, 19 years old, is a
college freshman at the local junior college. He also
works at Discount Tire part-time. Kathy is fortunate to have
custody of her exceptional nephew, James. James is 17
years old and a high school sophomore.
She has been an admirer for many years of the talented eggers
she has met. Although she has always been involved in
crafts, she didn’t think she could make an egg as beautiful as
those she had seen. As soon she attempted her first egg,
she was hooked. The more she tried, the more she wanted to
do.
Beading an egg is very relaxing to her. Her favorite time
and place to bead is sitting on the bed in the evening.
Kathy has been a Masters Program participant and has served as a
judge for the past two years. She strongly believes in the
program and its ability to help you grow and develop your skills
in egging.
Kathy, has owned The Eggery Place, an egg art supply business
since May 2005. She really enjoys going to the shows and
meeting all of the eggers. She has made some really great
friends through egging. Kathy is also the host of the
Eggs-Ibit International, the annual Dallas Egg Show that is held
the first weekend in June.
Shirley and Ray Hamilton, Kathy’s parents are a huge help to
her. They attend all of the shows with her and help work the
shows. Without their help, owning The Eggery Place would
not have been possible. Steve, Brandon and James all help
with the business when they are home and there is work to be
done.
For a little diversity, Kathy also raises dogs and birds as well
as helping her neighbors and friends and family. It is
hard for her to say no when others are in need, whether it is an
animal or a human.
