Kim started
egging in 2005, while attending the Oregon Egg Art Festival with
her mom, Barb Shutz. She enjoyed seeing the different eggs that
Barb brought home from classes and shows.
She has always
enjoyed crafting. Over the years, Kim has learned the arts of
Pergamano, quilling, and quilting. Kim taught classes in scrap
booking and punch art before she started egging. Kim is a member
of the Egg Artists' Guild of Washington, the IEAG, her local
PTA, an her son's high school Performing Arts Booster group,
where she is currently serving as band liaison. Kim was
Secretary for her guild during 2008, and served as PTA President
from 2005 - 2007. During this time she was awarded the Golden
Acorn and Volunteer of the Year by the PTA.
Kim is a
homemaker and mother of four children, Mikey, Jake, Katelynn,
and Becca. Two of her children are her niece and nephew, who she
has raised with her husband since 2001. She has been married to
her best friend, Doug, for 17 years. Along with their children,
they share their home with a dog, four cats, two parrots, and a
guinea pig.
Kim was the
Treasurer for the IEAG from the end of September 2008 to June
2009. We are fortunate to still have her!
