I was an "end of
the war" celebration (my parents celebrated). I was born in San
Diego and we moved to Texas when I was 9 months old. I count
myself as a true Texan. I eventually married and moved to
Ventura, CA. I later divorced and moved to Salem, OR. I worked
in law enforcement for many years. When my health started to
decline, I decided to move back to Texas and now live across the
street from my sister in Magnolia, Texas. I am here to stay.
I have always
been into some kind of art & crafts as far back as I can
remember. A friend in Ventura told me to go to the State Fair to
see the decorated eggs. I though ... hmmm plastic eggs with
thick braid (y u k). Well, I was at the Fair ... and I turned
the corner and saw this amazing display of eggs, REAL eggs. They
were lighted; some played music, there were jewelry boxes,
dioramas, and many sparkled with lots of bling. I stood in front
of the booth and yelled "I wanna do this!!". That was in 1980
and I have been egging ever since.
Although I am not able to make fancy eggs anymore, I can't break
all ties with the egging world. And I really miss teaching egg
classes. I have made many good friends over the years. That's
how I met Ann Copeland, one of the sweetest ladies the Lord ever
made. We are bosom buddies. I still go to shows to visit, and
make Christmas ornaments for my Texas family. I hope to get to
see you at the next show. If I haven't met you, please introduce
yourself to me. I know we must have a lot in common. All eggers
do!
